Augusta is the second largest city in Georgia, situated along the Savannah River in the eastern corner of the state. Known as the site of the annual Masters Golf Tournament, Augusta is a scenic town with lots of nearby parks and recreation areas. Travelers looking for campgrounds close to Augusta have several beautiful options to choose from within an hour's drive of the city.

Heritage Mobile Home-RV Park

The Heritage Mobile Home-RV Park is located 15 minutes west of downtown Augusta. This campground features graded lots with ample space for big rigs. The RV sites have gravel parking areas as well as concrete patios with picnic tables. Each site comes with a full RV hookup equipped for 50-amp electric output. Additional amenities include free Wi-Fi Internet and cable television. There is not much else in the way of facilities. This is a quiet and secure place to stay in Augusta for travelers on a budget.

Fox Hollow Campground

Fox Hollow Campground is situated 20 minutes south of downtown Augusta. This is a smaller facility with 21 RV sites. These sites are equipped with water, sewer and 50-amp electric connections. Most of the campsites have shade from trees as well as a fire pit and picnic table. Additional amenities include a communal bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. Fox Hollow Campground is a family-oriented and pet-friendly trailer park ideal for travelers passing through Augusta.

White Oak Campground

White Oak Campground lies 30 minutes west of Augusta and 10 minutes from the town of Thomson. This is a large campground with sites available all year long. The facilities include RV lots with water, 50-amp electric and sewer connections. All hookups are included in the camp space fee. One of the main draws here is the big swimming pool, open to pass-holding members of the local community as well as guests of the camp. There's also a playground and several winding nature trails for visitors looking to spend some time outdoors. Other amenities include a bathhouse with showers and toilets and a dining hall. Groups can rent out the 100-seat dining hall for events like birthdays and family reunions. The hall has heat and air conditioning, making it the ideal place to host an event in any season.
