The Clam Bar

The Clam Bar in north Syracuse is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week---and the bar stays open even after the restaurant is done serving food. This establishment serves many traditional bar and grill sort of entrees, such as burgers, wings, clam chowder, chicken sandwiches, pasta and fresh fish dishes. However, there is also a raw clam bar. Serving only the freshest little neck clams and mussels, diners have options such as clams on the half shell, clams casino, steamed clams, clams sauteed in garlic butter or provincial, garlic mussels, and either clams or mussels marinara.

If you're craving sushi, Sakana-Ya is calling your name. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, this modern-style sushi bar uses a conveyor belt to serve fresh sushi. Influenced by sushi restaurants in Japan, this conveyor belt carries out roll after roll you can lift directly from the belt if you see something you like. Specialties include the spicy tuna roll and spider roll, made with soft shell crab. Other sushi options include traditional rolls made from eel, crab meat, shrimp, salmon and yellowtail---some raw and some smoked or steamed. The raw sushi bar also offers many grilled teriyaki entrees as well as a full range of sake, beer and wine.

Sugarpearl Cafe

Sugarpearl began with the premise that healthy vegan and raw options did not have to taste bad. Sugarpearl Cafe now refers to itself as en espresso bar and lounge, serving up a wide variety of food and drinks---and not just vegan options. Sugarpearl is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday and just breakfast and lunch Monday and Sunday. Menu options include deli sandwiches for meat eaters, vegan wraps and sandwiches, breakfast served all day, vegan burgers and salads. Their raw options include a raw vegan granola, salads and specialty raw vegan smoothie with fruit, olive oil, soy, bulghar wheat, flax seed and almond butter.
