RV Parks Near the Elizabethton, Tennessee Lake Front

Elizabethton, Tennessee, is a beautiful small town located in northeast Tennessee, nestled in the Appalachian Mountains near the Cherokee National Forest. Besides numerous hiking trails and roads great for biking, the Watauga Lake is just a few miles from Elizabethton and provides opportunities for swimming, fishing and boating during the summer months. If you're visiting the areas in your RV and want to stay near the town, there are several RV parks located right on the shores of the lake.

Watauga Dam Tailwater Campground

Open from April 1 to Nov. 3, Watauga Dam Tailwater Campground has 28 sites with electric hookups for RVs. There are hiking trails located within the park, and the Appalachian Trail even crosses close to it. There are two boat ramps, one above the Watauga Dam and one below it.

Misty Waters Bait & Camping

Located within Cherokee National Forest on the banks of the Watauga Lake, Misty Waters Bait & Camping has eight sites with water and electric hookups and a dumping station. There is a small bait shop there as well that sells food and fishing supplies.

Cardens Bluff Campground

Cardens Bluff Campground is situated on a peninsula on the southwestern shore of Watauga Lake and has 43 sites in the wooded campground, most of which offer excellent views of Iron Mountain. Cardens Bluff Campground is open mid-April through mid-October.

Lakeview RV Park

Lakeview RV Park is located just a few miles north of Elizabethton on Boone Lake and offers full hookup sites that include cable TV, and 20-, 30- or 50-amp electrical service is available, as are pull-through sites. There is a pool that is open during the warm months, but the lake and nearby river are perfect for fishing and boating year-round.

Mallard Cove Marina & Campground

Mallard Cove Marina & Campground is located on Watauga Lake in the heart of Cherokee National Forest. It offers cabins and full hookup sites for RVs, and there are also 190 boat slips here, if you want to store your craft on this lake. There's a store on site as well, for any camping supplies you might have forgotten.
