RV Parks In and Around Atlanta, Georgia
Staying at an RV park or resort in the Atlanta area provides opportunities for outdoor recreation like tubing down the mighty Chattahoochee River or hiking through history at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. On the other side of the Atlanta area sits Stone Mountain where you can find 15 miles of hiking trails that includes the 1.3-mile trek to the top of this historically significant rock into which has been carved reliefs of major figures from the Confederacy.

The Atlanta-Marietta RV Resort is 12.8 miles from Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. You'll find 17.3 miles of official trails on your way to the top of this mountain that is really more of a hill. Along the way you will likely discover new paths created by other hikers like you. This Atlanta-area RV park has 25 available spaces offering 20/30/50-amp electrical connections and room for slide-outs. A stream meanders through this park and there is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Just five miles away is White Water Park, the biggest water amusement park in the area.

Stone Mountain Park Campground

If you like the idea of attacking trails on a steep rock mountain rather than the forested trails up Kennesaw Mountain, then head to Stone Mountain Park. Stone Mountain Park Campground offers 135 paved sites and 58 gravel sites. These are all full hookup sites with 30/50 amp electric. There are 14 pull-through sites and room for slideouts. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, laundry, church, grocery store, RV supply store and snack bar. A wealth of recreation can be found on-site that includes those 15 miles of hiking trails, fishing in Stone Mountain Lake, a five-mile loop around the mountain for biking and jogging and a championship golf course.

Jones RV Park

In the northern suburb of Norcross, you can find Jones RV Park. There are 150 sites here offering full hookup including electricity and fresh water. The bath house is climate controlled and provides private rooms. Other facilities include a laundry and a church. This Atlanta-area RV campsites is short on recreation but Stone Mountain is only 23 miles away via I-285 interstate. The 2.4-mile long McDaniel Farm Park trail is only 9.4 miles away and the 5.2-mile long Jones Bridge Trail is only eight miles from the RV park.
