Chilton County, Alabama offers a handful of RV parks for travelers visiting to take advantage of the recreational pursuits in the сounty, include kayaking through partially submerged forests on Upper Waxahatchee Creek and hiking the long shoreline of Mitchell Lake. The west side of the county borders the Oakmulgee District of the Talladega National Forest, where experienced outdoorsmen can backpack along the Pinhoti Trails System or kayak through rapids on the Little Cahaba River.

Peach Park

Peach Park offers campers 14 RV full-hookup (50 amps) sites to choose from in addition to picnic areas, a playground and a pavilion. Peach Park also offers a candy store, fresh fruits and vegetables from area farms, homemade ice cream, and a restaurant. The park is a 21-minute drive from Mitchell Lake, where visitors can swim or fly fish for spotted and largemouth bass, sunfish and black crappie.

Peach Queen Campground

The Peach Queen Campground offers 54 sites with full hookups (50 amps). The campground has a pool, fishing pond stocked with catfish, bathrooms, showers, coin-operated laundry room, convenience store, LP gas and 18 tent sites. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash. The Peach Queen Campground is a 14-minute drive from the upper reaches of Waxahatchee Creek, where fishing for largemouth bass is popular. The lower reaches of the creek are suitable for recreational boating and waterskiing.

Higgins Ferry Park

Higgins Ferry Park offers guests 25 sites. Full hookups are offered (including 50-amp electric). The park has bathrooms and showers. Tents can be pitched and pets, kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet, are welcome. Campers can take advantage of the park's location on the shoreline of Mitchell Lake; swimming, motorized and non-motorized boating as well as fishing are popular pursuits.
