Lake City is in Florence County, South Carolina. The city is famous for its biggest cash crop--tobacco--and holds an annual tobacco festival every September. Lake City is just minutes away from Lynches River County Park, which offers opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, hiking and picnicking. Also close by is Ebenezer Park, which connects to the Florence Rail Trail with its many miles of paved and unpaved hiking and biking trails.

Big Cypress Lake RV and Fishing Retreat

The Big Cypress RV and Fishing Retreat is in Conway--approximately 30 miles from Lake City. There are 28 full-hookup RV sites available. Reservations must be made in advance. Walk-ins are not accepted. Each guest is greeted personally by the owners and shown to their campsite. Features include a 40-acre spring-fed lake, a concrete boat ramp, a private bath house, picnic tables and fire pits. Cable TV and Internet access are available. The lake is stocked with large-mouth bass, bream and crappie. Tent sites are also available.

Swamp Fox Campground

Swamp Fox Campground is located just off Interstate 95 in Florence. This campground has its own golf course and offers and pull-through sites with full hookups and cable TV. Amenities include golf, club house, bath house, laundry facilities, tennis court and nature trails. This is a pet-friendly facility. Popular local attractions ainclude the Conagree Swamp National Monument, Woods Bay State Park and Oakdale Lake. Tent sites,cottages and golf packages are also available.

Santee Lakes Campground

Santee Lakes campground is located on Lake Marion and offers 200 shaded, pull-through sites. Amenities include air-conditioned restrooms, large swimming pool, sandy beach, playground, fishing pier, boat ramp, game room, mini-golf course and laundry facilities. Free high speed Internet is available for all guests, This is a pet-friendly facility. Lake Marion is the largest lake in South Carolina and is known for its large and varied wildlife population, big fish and cypress trees.

Angel's Landing

Angel's Landing is located on the north shore of Lake Moultrie. RV sites include septic, water, 50-amp electric and cable TV. Guests may enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, biking, jet skiing and water skiing. Ping-pong, horseshoes, volleyball and billiards are also available. This camp has many planned activities throughout the year. Call or check their website for details. Lake Moultrie is famous for its fish population, which has produced world-record catches.
