San Diego KOA
The regional campground is within 20 minutes of downtown San Diego, including the zoo and Old Town, and is also a short drive from the Mexican border. On-site facilities include all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts, bicycle rentals, a public kitchen, free cable television, wireless Internet, a year-round heated pool, and a hot tub and sauna. Pull-thrus are available for RVs up to 65 feet and cabins and lodges are also available for rent. The Otay Valley Regional Park is less than 3 miles to the south and it features biking and hiking trails that stretch from the South Bay National Wildlife Refuge in the west to Poggi Creek in the east, winding across the Otay River and past several local ponds.

Campland On the Bay
The park is on the beach of Mission Bay and approximately 1 mile from Kate O. Sessions Memorial Park, which offers views and walking paths. On-site amenities include a marina, a cafe, boat storage, a pool and Jacuzzi, a park, an ampitheater, free wireless Internet, a game room and laundry. A wide assortment of campsites are available, including beachfront properties, primitive campsites and bay-view sites. Children's activities and programs are offered, and other on-site activities include water sports, horseshoes, movie nights, dances and concerts. Less than a mile to the west is the Tourmaline Surfing Park, at the north end of Pacific Beach. It offers views of the Pacific Ocean, as well as three different surfing areas, each with unique wave conditions--The Cove, Pump House and Grimace Rock.

Coastal Trailer Villa
This campground is on Mission Bay, northwest of downtown San Diego and close to Sea World. The site was used for military housing during World War II, and each of the quonset huts has been replaced by an RV site. Each of the 90 sites offers a patio area and a grassy lawn, as well as additional parking. On-site amenities include public restrooms, laundry facilities, sewer hookups and beach access. Each site can accommodate an RV up to 36 feet, with pop-outs. Tecolote Canyon Natural Park is to the east, and a trailhead is less than a half-mile from the villa. Thre are more than 5 miles of trails that wander through several community parks and access Mount Acadia and Mount Etna.
