Gilbert, Minnesota, is home to the state's popular Iron Range Off Highway Vehicle Recreational Area. Lake Ore-Be-Gone, a 140-acre artificial lake formed from three iron ore mines, is another one of Gilbert's attractions for water activities like fishing and swimming. Many campgrounds with quick access to rivers and lakes can be found in Gilbert.

Eveleth Veterans Park-Campground

Eveleth Veterans Park-Campground accommodates tent sites, pull-through sites and RV sites with amenities such as 50-amp electrical hookups, hot shower facilities, picnic shelters, barbecue grills and fire pits. The camp also features a swimming beach, a bike trail and a hiking trail. Other activities include horseshoes, volleyball, fishing and rafting.

West-Two Rivers Campground

This campground is situated right on the West-Two Rivers Reservoir. Wooded tent sites and RV sites are available, with many amenities such as electric hookup, shower facilities, fishing pier, picnic pavilion and boat launch. The camp also has a sandy beach and trails for biking and hiking.

Sherwood Forest Campground

Sherwood Forest Campground is located in the northeastern Iron Range where campers can enjoy scenic views of Lake Ore-Be-Gone. The camp has tent sites and RV sites with amenities such as full hookups, partial hookups, shower facilities, lakeside boat launch, dock and pavilion. There are miles of trails for biking, skating and hiking. Those who like to fish can expect to catch walleye, northern pike and trout in the lake. The Iron Range Off Highway Vehicle & All Terrain Vehicle park is also connected to the campground by trail. Other activities include horseshoes and volleyball.
