Glendale is less than 30 minutes from Scottsdale and close to the Phoenix Mountains Preserve and North Mountain Preserve. The area is popular with a diverse group of travelers including those who like the outdoors and older travelers hoping to get away from harsh winters. Campgrounds near Glendale put you close to golfing, hiking, tennis and other outdoor activities.

Donorma RV Park

The Donorma RV Park is only open to those 55 or older, but it's also less than an hour from Phoenix and less than 20 minutes from Glendale. Nearby attractions include seven golf courses, tennis courts, and the White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available. Showers, restrooms and a laundry room are on-site and the RV park offers 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric hookups and water hookups. Wireless Internet access and satellite television are available for an additional fee and pull-through sites are available.

Lazy J Trailer Lodge

If you're traveling by RV, you may want to visit the Lazy J Trailer Lodge. All sites come with water, electric and a concrete patio and some spots also have shade trees. Showers, restrooms, a laundry room, swimming pool and dump station are all located on site and the campground accepts pets. The RV park is close to tennis, hiking, golfing and other outdoor activities.

Sunflower RV Resort

Only those over the age of 55 may enjoy the Sunflower RV Resort, as this campground has an age restriction, but it is less than 20 minutes from Glendale. The resort has its own library, horseshoe pits, a putting green, driving range, miniature golf course and restaurant. Also on site are activities such as a hiking club, fitness center, exercise classes, arts and crafts classes and dances. RV sites come with water, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electric hookups, and the RV park also gives guests access to cable television and wireless Internet for an additional fee.

Triple T Mobile Home and RV Park

Some of the residents who visit Glendale plan on staying for an extended period of time, and the Triple T Mobile Home and RV Park is best for those travelers. The park is home primarily to full-time, year-round residents and it doesn't offer a lot of amenities or activities for kids. This basic park offers water, electric and sewer hookups and many spots come with shade trees.
