Vacation Cottages in Wells, Maine
Wells, Maine is situated on the shores of the Atlantic Coast. This oceanfront position allows Wells to provide tourists with beach activities, as well as fishing and boating. Wells is also less than 15 minutes from the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. This park features trails, such as the Little River and Barrier Beach Walk, for hiking and cycling. The cottage resorts in Wells are able to accommodate family trips, as well as romantic getaways.

Watercrest Cottages and Hotel

Watercrest is comprised of over 50 cottages that are less than a mile away from the shores of Atlantic Ocean. Cottages at Watercrest feature up to three bedrooms and many of them have a fully-furnished kitchen with microwave, cable television, living room with sofa bed and back porches. Other features on the Watercrest grounds include an outdoor swimming pool, playground for children and a hotel with guest rooms and suites. Watercrest is only minutes away from the Wells Harbor channel, which features facilities for fishing and boating, as well as Drake's Island, which features the Jetty Walk, a one-mile path for walking and cycling. The cottages also are near Tatnic Hill, which has mountain biking trails.

Sleepytown Motel and Cottages

Sleepytown Motel and Cottages is less than 10 minutes away from Laudholm Farm, which features the Salt Hay Loop, a seven-mile cross-country skiing trail. The cottage resort also is near the Webhannet River, which offers opportunities for water activities, such as fishing and boating excursions. Each cottage at Sleepytown features bedrooms with queen-sized beds, screen porches, cable televisions and some of the cottages have fully-furnished kitchens and living room areas. Sleepytown has other features, including a motel with guest rooms, picnic areas with grills and the Foghorn Cafe, a restaurant that is adjacent to the resort's grounds. Pets are allowed to stay at Sleepytown for a nominal fee.

Carriage House Motel, Cottages and Suites

The cottages at Carriage House have amenities such as a living room area with sofa and cable television, fully-furnished kitchens with dining room table and bathrooms with showers and tubs. Other amenities at Carriage House include a heated outdoor swimming pool, facilities for croquet and paddle tennis, picnic area and hot tub. The Carriage House resort is also a stopping location for the Wells trolley transportation system. The resort is near the Wheels and Waves bicycle rental shop. You can rent a bike from here and go to the the five-mile cycling trail, the Kennebunkt Bridle Path, which is approximately 20 minutes north of Wells. Avid golfers who stay at Carriage House will only be minutes away from the golf course at Merriland Farm.
