Akeley City Park
Located in Akeley at the river's start is Akeley City Park. Located on the 11th Crow Wing Lake with the Crow Wing River flowing through it, the campground is open May through September. Tent campers have 13 grassy, wooded sites offering water, a picnic table and fire ring. These sites are private and away from RV's. The 24-lakeside sites offer water and 30-amp service. The campground has a dump station, swimming, picnic area, bathhouse and playground. Anglers and boaters can utilize the park's boat ramp and fishing pier. The Crow Wing River offers canoeists opportunities to canoe a portion of the 90-mile wilderness canoe trail through the park. The Heartland Trail, which is 49 miles long and located within the park's boundaries, offers hiking, biking and cross-country skiing opportunities.

Masonic/West River Campground
Located in Hutchinson is the Masonic/West River Campground, situated upon the banks of the Crow River. Tent campers have 25 wooded and private primitive sites situated away from RV's. Sites have a picnic table and fire ring. There are 10 sites with water and electric, that will accommodate tents and smaller pop-up trailers. RV camper's have 12 full hook-up sites offering electric, sewer and water. All the park's campsites are on a first come-first serve basis. There is a bathhouse, picnic area, paddleboat and bike rentals for guests to use. The park has a boat launch for boaters and canoeists to launch into the Crow River. Hikers can hike the Luce Line State Trail, which is 63 miles long and runs along the banks of the Crow River in park.

Crow Wing State Park
Crow Wing State Park, located in Brainerd, is located where the Crow Wing River meets up with the Mississippi River. This heavily forested park offers 59 drive-in campsites that are private, wooded and well screened. Tent campers will not have a problem finding a secluded site away from RV's. There are 12 campsites offering electric and water, as well as a group camping facility. The campground has restrooms, showers, vault toilets throughout, a seasonal dump station and a picnic area. Anglers can fish in the Mississippi River and canoeists can launch their watercraft into the Crow Wing River and canoe the Crow Wing River Canoe Trail. The park offers 18 miles of hiking trails and six miles of cross-country skiing trails.
