RV Campgrounds near Fargo, ND
Famous as the setting of the quirky Coen brothers movie of the same name, Fargo, North Dakota sits on the banks of the Red River, right on the state line with Minnesota. The city offers a pair of outdoor attractions to RV campers: first is fishing in the Red River itself, which defines the eastern border of town; second is access to the expansive grasslands of the American plains, which extend out from the city to the north, west and south.

Lindenwood Campground

Lindenwood is a municipal campground situated on the banks of the Red River. Located just a few city blocks from I-94, the campground is a convenient location for even the biggest RVs. It has 46 sites with water and electrical hookups in a lightly wooded setting, and is serviced by paved roads, fire pits, picnic tables and hot showers. There are also two playgrounds and bike trails in the park, and bike rentals are available. Firewood must be purchased from the park authorities as part of tree-disease prevention measures. Lindenwood Campground's location on the Red River gives it convenient access to the many small parks on both the North Dakota and Minnesota banks of the river, as well as to the river's catfish and carp.

Red River Valley Fair Campground

This campground is part of a speedway and fairgrounds complex. It offers 12 paved and 68 gravel sites, most of which have full hookups. The campground is serviced by a bathhouse and picnic tables. Given its location, this campground is more for RV campers who are attending a fair, livestock event or car race, but its location in West Fargo does offer ready access to scenic drives or bike rides on the rural routes leading out to the extensive prairies of North Dakota.
