Ten to 15 miles from most RV parks and campgrounds in Mesa, Arizona is the Usery Mountain Recreation Area. The 3,234 acres are home to hiking trails, picnic areas and even an archery range. The Mesa Southwest Museum provides a place to spend a rare rainy day. At the museum, you can check out dinosaur fossils that were discovered in the surrounding areas, which are now filled with hiking trails.

Arizona Cowboy RV Park

The Arizona Cowboy RV Park is home to 75 full-hookup sites with 50-amp electrical connection. You'll find room for slide-outs, but no pull-through sites. The gated facility includes bathrooms, showers, laundry and RV storage. If you bring your pet, it can enjoy an enclosed dog run. The Arizona Cowboy park is located about eight miles from the Usery Mountain Recreation Area, so you are just minutes away from the 2.9 mile mountain bike trail that is perfect for the beginner mountain biker. The recreation area is a small part of the Tonto National Forest.

Silveridge RV Park

Silveridge RV Park is home to 687 sites big enough to take on the largest rigs. Full hookups are available at 112 of these sites, and they include 30/50 amp electric. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, laundry and a library at which you can borrow both books and videos. On-site recreation includes swimming in the heated pool or relaxing sore muscles in the nearby Jacuzzi after working out in the fitness center. This Mesa RV park offers both a golf club and hiking club. Less than 45 minutes from Silveridge is Saguaro Lake where you can drop a line for catfish or walleye, water ski, relax on a boat or just go swimming.

Orangewood Shadows RV Resort

Orangewood Shadows RV Resort is a seniors-only park: One resident per RV must be at least 55 and the second must be 35 or older. This Mesa RV resort is home to 474 sites of which 100 are full hookups with 30/50 amp electric. Recreation on the site includes the chance to swim in two heated pools. Facilities include a hot tub, bathrooms, showers, laundry, library, computer room and a community room. The resort is situated next to the Usery Mountains, which offer trails of hiking varying difficulty. The Upper Fish Creek Hike offers 30 miles of scenery through rugged conditions for the backpacker in the family.
