St. John, New Brunswick is the largest city in the province and sits on the north shore of the Bay of Fundy. Opportunities for ocean-based recreation abound. Sea-kayakers can paddle the bay, keeping track of the largest tidal changes in North America. The waters off the coast are home to humpback, minke, fin and pilot whales. Fishing and wildlife watching charters can be hired out of the harbor. RV travelers have several options for parks in the St. John area.

River's Edge Campground

River's Edge Campground can accommodate RVs of most sizes. Pull-through and back-in sites are available and have water, sewer, 30-amp electric, and cable TV hookups. Wi-Fi is available at the campground for those needing Internet use. Pets are allowed (for visitors driving across from the states with pets, make sure to bring license tags and a health certificate from a vet). Showers, bathrooms, laundry facility, swimming pool, picnic areas, and a dump station are all at the campgrounds for guest use. Pets are allowed if leashed. Sea-kayakers staying at the campground can access the Bay of Fundy and other coastal areas within minutes and paddle the rocky coast.

Rockwood Park Campground

Rockwood Park Campground is part of the St. John city park system. RV hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer. There are also sites without hookups for those with self-contained RVs. Hot showers, private toilets, and fresh water taps are available for guest use and comfort. Pets are allowed but need to remain leashed. There are fire rings at sites. Hiking trails in the park provide views of St. John and the coast. Wildlife can be spotted, including red fox, osprey, deer and an occasional moose.

Century Farm Family Campground

Century Farm Family Campground has sites for large and small RVs. Connections at sites include 30- or 50-amp electric, water, and sewer. Wi-Fi is available for those needing Internet use. Shorefront sites are available. Showers and bathrooms, laundry room, guest recreation room, and a dump station or at the campground for guest use. Pets are allowed, but need to remain leashed in the campground. The Fundy Trail is within 20 minutes of the campground. Visitors to the trail can hike or bike the coastal pathway that parallels the Bay of Fundy.
