New York City, or the "Big Apple," is the most populous city in the United States and provides tourists with many opportunities for recreation, such as fishing and water activities on the Hudson River. In addition, the city has walking paths at Central Park in mid-Manhattan. New York is also a mecca for entertainment venues, such as Broadway and Radio City. So when its time to eat, you should have no trouble finding a theme restaurant that will offer a fun experience.

Mars 2112

Mars 2112 is an electrifying, space-themed restaurant located in the heart of Times Square. This restaurant has two levels of seating areas that can accommodate small family outings, as well as private events such as birthday parties and graduation celebrations. The restaurant is less than 10 minutes from the walking paths and water activities that can be had at Central Park. Mars 2112 is open for dinner every night and for lunch on the weekends. The menu at Mars 2112 features entrees such as a crater chicken curry, star-field salmon and skylab steak u poivre. The space theme of Mars 2112 can be seen in Crystal Crater, a venue in the restaurant that features a three-story crystal tree.

Ellen's Stardust Diner

Ellen's Stardust Diner will satisfy your hunger after participating in water activities on the Hudson River. This restaurant is a 1950's nostalgic diner that provides spacious booths for family gatherings, as well as vintage bar-stool seating arrangements. Ellen's also provides variety shows, and its wait staff will sing for you. Ellen's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast selections at Ellen's include Canal Street bagels and chocolate chip pancakes, while the lunch and dinner menu features entrees such as fish 'n chips and Dean Martin, which is a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. Ellen's also has a catering service and hosts private events.

Jekyll and Hyde of Greenwich Village

After cycling at Battery Park, check out Jekyll and Hyde in Greenwich Village. Jekyll and Hyde is a pub-style restaurant that claims to be "New York's Only Haunted Restaurant and Bar;" the restaurant's atmosphere and décor lends itself to that title. The restaurant operates for lunch and dinner every day of the year, and the menu features entrees such as chicken Florentine and Jekyll steak, as well as brunch selections that include eggs Benedict and buttermilk pancakes. Jekyll and Hyde also provides ghoulish entertainment, such as bizarre monster figures that interact with you while you eat.
