Campgrounds in Mt. Charleston, Nevada
Mt. Charleston is also known as the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, which is part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. This area features many hiking trails and primitive campgrounds to accommodate visitors. During the winter, the mountain provides skiing and sledding opportunities just 30 minutes away from downtown Las Vegas. If you are visiting Mt. Charleston during heavy snowfall, be advised that tire chains are required to reach the top of the mountain.

Kyle Canyon Campground

The Kyle Canyon Campground has 25 campsites for tents or trailers. Six of the campsites are double sites for group camping. Nine of the campsites are handicap accessible. Drinking water and three vault toilets are located at this campground. This campground is located on Mt. Charleston at the elevation of 6,900 feet. Kyle Canyon Campground is open seasonally from April to October.

Kyle Canyon RV Campground

Kyle Canyon RV Campground features one large group camping site to accommodate up to 60 people or 15 RVs. Hookups, drinking water and toilets are not available at the park so this campground is only appropriate for self contained RVs.

Hilltop Campground

Hilltop Campground has 35 campsites for tents and trailers under 25 feet long. Group camping is available at three double sites and one triple site. Two of the single sites are handicap accessible. This campground is open seasonally from May to October. The onsite bathhouse has three vault style toilets and one flush toilet as well as coin-operated showers. Drinking water is also available at the campground. Elevation at this campground is 8,400 feet.

Mahogany Grove Campground

Mahogany Grove is a group camping area found at 8,000 feet with two campsites, accommodating up to 75 people in total. The parking area has enough room for up to 18 cars. Amenities at the campground include drinking water and two vault toilets.

Dolomite Campground

The Dolomite Campground features 31 campsites for trailers and tents. Guests will find drinking water and three flush toilets at the campground. This campground is one of the highest camping areas on Mt. Charleston with an elevation of 8,500 feet and is open from May to October. None of the campsites are handicap accessible.

Fletcher View Campground

The Fletcher View Campground is a small area with 11 single campsites and one double campsite. Electrical hookups are available at each site. Amenities onsite include two vault toilets and drinking water. This is the only campground on Mt. Charleston open year-round. Fletcher View is located at an elevation of 7,000 feet.

McWilliams Campground

McWilliams Campground is open from May to October each year and is located at an elevation of 8,500 feet. This campground has 31 single campsites for tents and trailers and 9 double sites for group camping. Four vault toilets and one flush toilet are located at the campground and drinking water is available.
