Campgrounds Near Silver Lake, Michigan
Silver Lake, Michigan, is known for it's sand dunes, which are a popular destination for off-road vehicle enthusiasts, swimmers and sunbathers. The town, located between Lake Michigan and Silver Lake, provides visitors with plenty of beach and opportunities for water sports. While you won't find any campgrounds within Silver Lake, several options are available just three miles away in Mears.

Hideaway Campground and Resort

Approximately seven minutes southwest of the city of Silver Lake, Hideaway Campground has 215 campsites for tents and RV's, restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, an outdoor swimming pool, a playground and a camp store. Many of the campsites have electric and water hookups and all sites include a fire ring and picnic table. Cottages are also available for rent and are fully furnished. Pets are permitted in the campground provided they are leashed at all times, but they are not allowed inside the cottages. Lake Michigan is only two miles away from the campground and Silver Lake is less than one mile away.

Silver Hills Camp Resort

Silver Hills Camp Resort is located in a wooded area just outside of Silver Lake. Campsites range from primitive sites with no hookups to those with water and electric. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring. The resort also has two fully furnished cabins available for rent and a small lodge offering guest rooms. Amenities found at this resort include restrooms and showers, an RV dump station, a heated outdoor pool and a children's play area.

Sandy Shores Campground

Silver Shores campground is located directly on Silver Lake approximately two miles outside of the city. This campground has 214 sites, more than half of which feature full hookups of water, electric and sewage. The remaining campsites provide only water and electric. Amenities include restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, an outdoor pool, a children's playground and a basketball court. The Silver Lake beach is less than 200 yards from the camp's entrance, and visitors can enjoy 180 feet of private beach. A grocery store selling snacks, beverages and souvenirs is conveniently located right across the street.

Silver Lake State Park

The campground at Silver Lake State Park consists of 200 campsites with electric hookups and restrooms with flush toilets. The park itself covers nearly 3,000 acres and includes a 450 acre off-road vehicle area. Other attractions found in the park are the Little Sable Point Lighthouse, a picnic area with tables, fire pits and charcoal grills, and a boat launch on Silver Lake. Fishing is permitted in the park and popular catches include panfish, crappie, walleye, Northern pike and bass.
