Wildwood KOA

The Wildwood KOA (Kampground of America, a national chain of campgrounds) is only 20 minutes north of Sumterville. This KOA offers 80-foot-long RV sites (long enough for most big rigs), 50 amp electric, free wireless Internet, a propane fill station, and a swimming pool. To get away from the campground, take the 45-minute drive south to Withlacoochee State Forest, where ample hiking and biking trails crisscross the large protected wilderness.

Villager RV Park

The Villager RV Park is also located just 20 minutes north of Sumterville. This RV park offers campers full hookups at all RV sites, free wireless Internet, laundry facilities, a recreation center, showers, and a pet-friendly atmosphere. In addition, the park offers shuffleboard, a full kitchen, cable TV, a karaoke room, and a pavilion for barbecuing or picnicking. Hikers will find opportunities to get their boots muddy at the Emaralda Marsh Conservation Area. This protected area has many miles of hiking trails and nature paths--most of which give witness to rare and protected species of waterbirds.
