The Poconos, a mountain range in Eastern Pennsylvania, provides tourists with access to outdoor recreational areas, such as Big Pocono State Park. Chestnut Grove Resort

Chestnut Grove Resort is one of the original resorts in The Poconos, with the Main Lodge dating back to 1880. Chestnut Grove is close to recreational areas such as Devil's Hole Creek Falls, which features a three-mile hiking trail. You will get wet when you walk on this trail, so be sure to bring some extra dry clothes. The resort is also within 30 minutes of the skiing and snowmobile riding opportunities at the Alpine Ski Resort. Chestnut Resort provides a cozy atmosphere that provides amenities such as a fishing pond, outdoor swimming pool, campfire facilities, volleyball courts and paths for cycling and jogging. The cottages at Chestnut Grove feature living room areas, refrigerators, fireplaces and Jacuzzi, and many of the cottages are located near the swimming pool.

Ehrhardt's Waterfront Resort

Ehrhardt's Waterfront Resort rests on the edge of Lake Wallenpaupack. Ehrhardt's has cottage accommodations for couples who are seeking a weekend getaway, as well as units designed for family vacations. Some of the facilities that are offered at Ehrhardt's include fishing and boating docks on the lake, campfire cookouts and an outdoor swimming pool. All of the rooms at Ehrhardt's are completely smoke-free. The resort is less than five miles from the Tanglewood Ski Area, which offers skiing opportunities, as well as trails for cross-country skiing and snowmobile riding. Ehrhardt's is also near Shuman Point Natural Area, which features a three-mile hiking trail.
