Deming, New Mexico, is located in the southwest part of the state, about 100 miles east of Tucson, Arizona, and about an hour north of the U.S./Mexico border. This town is also flanked by several large wilderness areas, including the Gila National Forest and the Florida Mountains Wilderness Study Area. RV campers will find lodging right in the heart of this town.

Little Vineyard RV Park

Little Vineyard RV Park has 150 RV sites for campers, many of which can accommodate big rigs and are pull-through capable. The park also has a swimming pool and hot tub, a recreation hall for social events and meetings, DSL Internet, telephone service at the sites, and full hookups for RVs. The entrance to Gila National Forest is about an hour and a half drive; once inside, hikers will find a plethora of exploring opportunities, including hikes through the Gila Cliff Dwellings.

Dream Catcher RV Park

Dream Catcher RV Park, also situated within Deming's city limits, has 84 RV sites with full hookups. Amenities at Dream Catcher include laundry facilities, a clubhouse for social meetings and recreation, as well as shared access of the Holiday Inn pool adjacent to the park. Pancho Villa State Park is one hour south of Deming and has 60 acres of land to explore--either on nature wildlife trails or more strenuous hiking trails.

Rockhound State Park

Rock Hound State Park is an isolated park just outside Deming. The campground looks primitive and sparse, but comes with full hookups for RVs. There are views of the surrounding desert, along with bathrooms and showers. Campers simply need to strap up their boots to get hiking--the campground itself is located inside Rock Hound State Park. While on your hike, you're encouraged to collect rocks and fossils (no more than 15 pounds).
