St. Petersburg/Madeira Beach Resort
St. Petersburg/Madeira Beach Resort KOA has 267 spaces with water hookups, including 220 with sewer. Sites have 30- and 50-amp electric and there is room for slide-outs. There are 87 pull-thru sites. The resort has showers, a heated swimming pool and spa, laundry facilities and a store selling RV supplies and grocery items. There is a boat ramp, a kids' playground, a shuffleboard court and horseshoe pit. There is additional swimming and fishing at nearby Long Bayou. Downtown Tampa is about 45 minutes away.

Hillsborough River State Park
The park is about 25 minutes from Tampa, in Thonotosassa. Hillsborough River State Park covers nearly 3,000 acres, with magnolias offering shade. The 106 multipurpose sites include water and 30-amp electric. There are showers and bathrooms as well as laundry facilities. There is a suspension bridge that takes hikers to the Florida Trail. Wildlife is abundant and includes opportunities to see alligators, deer and bobcats. There is canoeing and hiking near historic Fort Foster.

Little Manatee River State Park
The park is across Tampa Bay and has 120 sites. There are showers, restrooms, a laundry facility and a general store a mile away. The Little Manatee River offers fishing, kayaking and canoeing. There also are scheduled nature programs that may provide the opportunity to see native wildlife in their natural habitat or nighttime sky viewing away from the haze of city lights. Trails are available for hiking and biking inside the park.
