RV Campgrounds in Pecos, New Mexico
Pecos, New Mexico, is home to the Pecos Wilderness which consists of more than 223,000 acres of unspoiled wilderness. The wilderness extends into the Santa Fe National Forest and includes 15 lakes and peaks with altitudes as high as 13,000 feet. You will find a number of campgrounds which allow RV's in the Santa Fe National Forest. This provides easy access to the Pecos Wilderness, for hiking, fishing and many other outdoor activities.

Holy Ghost Campground

The Holy Ghost Campground is one of several campgrounds located in the Santa Fe National Forest. There are 23 sites in total, all with no hookups. The maximum RV length allowable at Holy Ghost Campground is 32 feet. Faciltiies include two pull-throughs, non-flush toilets and grills. The park is open from May 1 to November 15. The maximum stay allowed at any one time is 14 nights. The campground is located next to Holy Ghost Creek where stream fishing is available. Holy Ghost Creek is well-stocked with rainbow trout and brown trout. In addition, there are opportunities for hiking in the Santa Fe National Forest and swimming in the creek.

Jack's Creek Campground

Jack's Creek Campground is another Santa Fe National Forest campground. It offers 43 sites in total, all with no hookups. The maximum allowable RV length is just 16 feet. Other facilities include non-flush toilets and grills. The campground is open from May 1 to November 15. As with the Holy Ghost campground, Jack's Creek has a maximum length stay of 14 nights. There are numerous trails around the area including Jack's Creek Trail, a 14.5 mile, moderate to difficult trail perfect for hiking or horseback riding. Mountain bikes and other types of mechanized transportation is prohibited on this trail.

E.V. Long Campground

E.V. Long Campground is yet another campground located within Santa Fe National Forest. The campground has 14 sites in total, all with no hookups. The maximum length RV that is allowed at E.V. Long is just 16 feet. Other facilities at the campgrounds include non-flush toilets and grills. Like the other two campgrounds, the park is open from May to November, and has a maximum length stay of 14 nights. The campground is adjacent to a stream, perfect for those who enjoy fishing. In addition, you will find numerous trail heads that lead out into the Pecos Wilderness.
