Mason, Michigan, is located in rural central Lower Michigan and offers campers several campgrounds and many recreational opportunities. Campers will find hiking in several local parks including Pleasant Lake County Park and Raynor Park as well as fishing opportunities in the ponds at Raynor Park and Pleasant Lake.

Lansing Cottonwood Campground

Lansing Cottonwood Campground is located 8 miles north of Mason on the edge of Lansing, Michigan. It offers 145 sites with varying amenities that include full hookups sites and rustic sites with water and electric only. Facility amenities include modern restrooms with private showers, a convenience store and laundry room along with a recreation room that contains air hockey and arcade games. There is a large outdoor pool with sitting area for guests to enjoy as well as a playground and volleyball court. Lansing Cottonwood Campground has two private ponds that are stocked for fishing and have a swimming area. Guests do not need a license to fish at the ponds and can expect quality fishing for bluegill.

Heartland Woods RV Park

Heartland Woods RV Park is located 17 miles southeast of Mason and offers large, level campsites. All sites include water, electric and a picnic table along with a concrete pad and fire ring. Facility amenities include modern bathrooms with private showers, two swimming pools and a laundry room. Guests will find many recreational activities at the park that include a mini-golf course, fishing pond and playground as well as volleyball, horseshoe and shuffleboard courts. There are hiking and ATV trails in the surrounding woods for guests to use with wildlife viewing opportunities.

Pleasant Lake County Park & Campground

Pleasant Lake County Park & Campground is located 18 miles south of Mason on Pleasant Lake. It is a 22-acre county park that has 60 modern campsites that include water, electric and a picnic table as well as a fire ring. There is a modern restroom on site that includes private showers along with a dump station and water-filling station. The park includes a waterfront that contains a beach, boat launch and fishing pier. Guests also have access to a playground, hiking trail and bike trail.
