Cedartown is located roughly 30 miles northwest of Atlanta and 20 miles northeast of the Talladega National Forest. This small town can be a jumping-off point for outdoor recreation vacations due to its proximity to not only Talladega, but also to other state parks and wildlife areas. While there are no RV parks in Cedartown, there are several in the surrounding area.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park

This Jellystone Park (Yogi Bear Jellystone Parks are a national chain of campgrounds) is located in Bremen, about 35 minutes south of Cedartown. Jellystone Park is a family-friendly campground with various activities for children, including hay rides, go-karts, pools, and miniature golf. RV sites at Jellystone include full hookups, cable TV with over 100 channels, large, paved sites capable of accommodating big rigs, and 50-amp service. To get away from the park, take the 30-minute drive east to Little Tallapoosa Lake where primitive hiking trails abound.

Atlanta Marietta RV Resort Park

The Atlanta Marietta RV Resort Park is located about an hour and a half from downtown Cedartown, but offers RV campers a wide variety of amenities and services. RV sites at this resort are paved, and include full hookups with 20-, 30-, or 50-amp service and free cable TV. There is a seasonal swimming pool. This resort is located in a rather urban area, so to get away, take the 15-minute drive to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. This park offers hikers the Cheatham Hill Trail, which accesses the summit of Kennesaw Mountain.

Cartersville KOA

Situated one hour northeast of Cedartown, Cartersville KOA (Kampground of America, a national chain of campgrounds) offers the full range of amenities provided at all KOA campgrounds. For RV campers, these include 30- or 50-amp service, pull-through sites, wide and long sites to accommodate big rigs, cable TV and free wireless Internet. Hikers will find many trails along the shores of the 12,000-acre Lake Allatoona at Red Top Mountain State Park, located 15 minutes south of the KOA.
