Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park
This Jellystone Park facility--17 miles south of Metamora--has over 300 sites to offer, including 130 full hookups with 50-amp electric. Wireless Internet service and a pet area are available. A camp store and dump stations are provided. Special activities are held most weekends and the campground has many outdoor games--from sand volleyball to horseshoes. Pedal carts, golf carts and paddleboats can be obtained from the staff. For other sports, the park has a baseball field, mini-golf course and a swimming pool. For a wilderness experience, Marshall State Fish & Wildlife Area is 25 miles north of Jellystone and has activities for all seasons. A launch ramp allows access to the Illinois River. The trails can be used for hiking or cross country skiing. Backpacking deeper into the park is permitted after hunting season ends.

Kentuckiana Kampground
Kentuckiana Kampground--27 miles south of Metamora--has shaded, pull-through sites with full hookups. Each site has a concrete pad and picnic table. A dog walk area is provided for pets. What makes the park special is the Saturday night Opry show with country music. Additionally, the park hosts many other gatherings with food or entertainment featured. Food concessions are available and firewood and ice are sold on site. The campground has playground equipment, many outdoor games and two ponds. The Farmdale Park/Recreation Area is 18 miles west of the campground and has 10 miles of mountain bike trails with technical sections and many challenges.

Woodford State Fish & Wildlife Area
Woodford has 2,900 acres, most of it water. The park--eight miles north of Metamora--can be flooded during heavy rains or in spring, when the Illinois River overflows, and the park management recommends that travelers call ahead to assure the park is accessible. A dumping station and pit toilets are available. The park has boat docks and a boat ramp--larger boats are allowed on the lake. The three miles of park hiking trails are closed during the fall migration of water birds, but open again for winter cross country skiing. Pets are allowed in the park and it is an excellent location for spotting birds and wildlife.
