Kings Dominion Campground
You can't get much nearer to Kings Dominion than to camp in their own campground, which is just two minutes from the amusement park and connected by a free shuttle service. It offers a mix of over 200 shady RV and tent-camping sites. The RV sites are equipped with full hookups with 30- and 50-amp electric. The camping facilities include a dump station, a camp store with propane sales, two bathhouses and a coin laundry. Its other amenities include a game room, and DirectTV and free Wi-Fi access at the camp lodge. There are also rental cabins available. Discounts (10 percent) on campsite rates are available to active and retired military, AAA, AARP and Good Sam members, and Kings Dominion season pass holders.

This KOA is located in Ashland, a suburb on the north side of Richmond, near the northern I-95 and I-295 interchange. It offers 198 paved RV sites with full hookups (30- and 50-amp electricity), some of which can accommodate the biggest rigs and their slide-outs. Cable TV connections are available. The KOA's camping facilities include a camp store with LP gas sales and RV supplies and a coin laundry. The other features and facilities include a playground, game room, computer room, free Wi-Fi access, dog kennel and swimming pool.

Hidden Acres Family Campground
This lightly wooded campground offers gravel-pad RV sites with full hookups, rental cabins and a separate tent-camping area. The campground's facilities include a coin laundry and LP gas sales, and campfires are permitted. Other amenities include courts for horseshoes, volleyball, basketball and shuffleboard, two playgrounds, miniature golf, skeeball and a swimming pool and hot tub. It also has a private fishing pond with paddleboats. The campground is less than 15 miles from Kings Dominion, with the best route being down U.S. 301 (the Richmond Turnpike) instead of I-95.
