Auburndale, Florida, is located near the center of Polk County and provides campers with a centralized base camp for many different types of adventures. Twelve miles southeast of Auburndale, Cypress Campground & RV Park offers campers and their pets full hookup RV sites with cable TV and Wi-Fi. Within the park, guests may enjoy the available pool, shuffleboard courts, and horseshoe pits, while those interested in hiking, boating, fishing or biking will find a trip to Lake Kissimmee State Park or Lake Wales Ridge State Forest well rewarded. Other park amenities include miniature golf, bath houses, bocce ball, propane, and laundry facilities.

Orlando Southwest/Fort Summit KOA, less than half an hour northeast of Auburndale, allows guests to enjoy the world famous theme parks of the Orlando-Kissimmee area and the natural splendor of central Florida. This campground caters to guests with pull-through, full hookup RV sites accompanied by a pool, cable TV, propane, wireless Internet, mini-golf and laundry facilities. Pets are welcome, and the campground offers a shuttle service to area attractions. Tent camping and cabin rentals are also available.

Saddle Creek Park & Campground

The lakefront campsites with electric and water hookup at Saddle Creek Park & Campground provide a natural setting just seven miles west of Auburndale on US 92. Fishing and boating are popular at this park and a gun range allows marksman the chance to practice firing their pistols, rifles, and shotguns. In addition to the linear trail in this park, hikers can find the trailhead to Tenoroc Trail, one of the trails included in the Trek Ten Trails program that was designed to encourage hikers to explore the diversity of trails in Polk County. Additional amenities include restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds.
