Waterfront Campgrounds in Duluth, Minnesota
Duluth, Minnesota, is a water-centered recreation destination. Canoeists and kayakers can paddle the St. Louis River or Shores of Lake Superior. Anglers can fly-fish the river and drop a line in the deep waters of Lake Superior, trying for trout, bass or walleye. Sailing charters can be hired out of the many harbors and docks of Duluth. Swimming and scuba diving are all possible for those seeking underwater adventures. There are several campgrounds and RV parks on the waterfront in the Duluth area.

Indian Point Campground

Indian Point Campground has a location on the banks of the St. Louis River, offering visitors the chance to fish, canoe and kayak right from the campground. There are sites for large and small RVs. Hookups include 30- and 50-amp electric, sewer, water, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Pets are allowed but should remain leashed while in the campground. There are fire rings and picnic tables, showers, bathrooms, a guest house, laundry, and the camp is at the Head of the Munger Trail, where hikers can enjoy taking a nature hike just outside of Duluth.

Lakehead Boat Basin

Lakehead Boat Basin is located in the harbor in Duluth and offers a waterfront location for campers looking to canoe, kayak, sail or fish right from the campground and RV site. There are limited numbers of spaces for campers without hookups and tents. Other sites are for RVs with hookups. All campers have access to showers and bathrooms. The Lakehead is convenient to Lake Superior and the shores, making for opportunities for sea-kayaking, and canoeing. Sailing charters can be hired right from the harbor for those wishing a wind-powered exploration of the Duluth shoreline.

Buffalo Valley Camping

The Buffalo Valley Camping offers a location on the waterfront, making for easy access to sea-kayaking, canoeing and fishing. The Munger State Trail and Jay Cooke State Park and Trail System is close by and can be accessed from the campground, were visitors can hike and mountain bike the many miles of trails in the parks. The campground does not allow ATVs making for a quiet and human-powered experience. Pets are allowed, and there are showers, bathrooms and laundry on the premises for guest use and comfort. Picnic tables and fire rings are on the grounds.
