Campgrounds Near Hesperia, Michigan
Hesperia, Michigan, is located in the central lower peninsula and borders the Manistee National Forest on the west and north. Campers will find that the surrounding area offers camping opportunities with convenient access to hiking trails in the Manistee National Forest and fishing in several area lakes and rivers.

Timbers Edge Campground

Timbers Edge Campground is located six miles northeast of Hesperia and borders the Manistee National Forest. It has 50 primitive and rustic spacious campsites that include a mix of wooded and open field sites. Facility amenities include modern restrooms, a playground and gathering pavilion as well as horseshoe pits and water filling stations. There is a three-acre private lake for guests to swim and fish in. Hiking and horse trails are also throughout the property with some leading to the Manistee National Forest.

Fremont Lake Park Campground

Fremont Lake Park Campground is located on Fremont Lake 11 miles southeast of Hesperia. It offers full hookups, fire pits and picnic tables at sites. There are modern restroom facilities with private showers, playground and pavilion, along with horseshoe and shuffleboard courts. The campground has a large beach area on Fremont Lake for guests to sunbathe and swim. There is also a boat launch and a fishing pier. The park is conveniently located with a mile of downtown Fremont, which has many dining and shopping opportunities. Campground is open late April through mid-October.

Oak Knoll Family Campground

Oak Knoll Family Campground is a rural campground in the Manistee National Forest 15 miles southwest of Hesperia. They offer a variety of camp sites ranging from rustic to full hookups along with rental cabins and trailers. Sites all include a level camping surface, picnic table and fire ring. Facility amenities include modern restrooms with private showers, laundry area and camp store, as well as a dish washing station with hot water. Guests will find many recreational activities that include volleyball, basketball and a playground. Big Blue Lake is located across the street and has a public access for boats and fishing. Hiking trails run throughout the property.
