Located on the eastern slops of the Black Hills mountain range, Rapid City is known as the "Gateway to the Black Hills." The area is home to popular attractions including Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Badlands National Park, Crazy Horse Memorial and the Black Hills caverns and forests. Recreation enthusiasts enjoy biking through the area's 6,000 miles of trails winding through canyons, pine forests, and mountaintops, along with fishing, rockhounding, horseback riding, mountain climbing and golfing. Lake Park Campground & Cottages is located by Canyon Lake on the western edge of Rapid City. It has 38 full hookup sites with 30- or 50-amp service, eight of which are pull-thrus that can accommodate RVs up to 55 feet. Lake Park Campground features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, cable TV and Wi-Fi Internet; it is per friendly. Visitors can enjoy Canyon Lake fishing and boating, jogging and biking the eight mile bike path around the lake or head to Crystal Caves, Mount Rushmore or the Black Hills Caverns located just a short drive from the campground.

Rapid City KOA

Located just minutes from downtown Rapid City at the edge of the Black Hills, the Rapid City KOA has more than 220 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups. Open from April 15 to October 15, it features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi Internet, a large heated swimming pool, wading pool and hot tub, a playground, game room, basketball and volleyball courts; pets are welcome. Hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and sightseeing are popular activities at the nearby Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and The Badlands. Cabin rentals and tent sites are also available.
