Colonial Woods Family Camping Resort is situated one hour north of Ambler city center and only 15 minutes north of Nockamixon State Park. This resort offers the following amenities: more than 200 RV sites with hookups for water and electricity, cable TV, large sites for slide-out RVs and big rigs, pull-through sites, and 30 amp service. Nockamixon State Park has more than 5,200 acres of greenery around Lake Nockamixon. Campers can hike on the shores of Three Mile Run, a feeding stream for Lake Nockamixon.

Tohickon Family Campground is located 45 minutes north of Ambler. This campground is located on the banks of the Tohickon Creek and has more than 60 acres of wooded property. The campground has more than 200 RV sites that come with full hookups, a dumping station, and a propane filling station. The campground also has a camp store that sells traditional camping and cooking items like marshmallows and wood. Lake Towhee Park is 10 minutes from the campground and has a few miles of hiking trails. Another 10 minutes will bring campers to Nockamixon State Park for more extensive hiking trails.

This site is close to Philadelphia and offers camping sites along the Brandywine River.
