Cheap RV Parks in Phoenix

Cheap RV Parks in Phoenix
Phoenix is a hot destination spot for RV travelers. The temperature climate during the winter makes it a prime location for snowbirds looking for a place where they can walk and swim during January instead of worrying about slipping on the ice. There are many RV parks in the Phoenix-Scottsdale-Mesa area because of the opportunities for playing golf, mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing in the surrounding areas. If you are traveling on a budget, you can find some quality parks in the Phoenix area that won't bust your bank account.

Covered Wagon Park

The average rate in 2009 at Covered Wagon Park ran from $25 to $38. You will find 46 mostly shaded full hookup sites with 30/50 amp electric, room for slideouts and patios. The park includes showers and restrooms along with a laundry. The paved interior and exterior roads are in good condition. Recreation on the site includes a swimming pool, but you may want to stay away during August when the rains come. June is a pretty dry month, however, and you can beat the heat by taking a swim. Casa Grande Ruins National Monument is close to Covered Wagon Park and offers hiking trails that provide historical illumination into the ancient people who inhabited this area of Arizona. Palo Verde Golf Course is a respected course that is nearby.

Welcome Home RV Park

Welcome Home RV Park puts you closer to downtown Phoenix than any other RV park in the city. The fees in 2009 ranged from $21 to $24. This Phoenix RV park is home to 52 full hookup sites with 30/50 amp electricity and trees and grass at each space. The park has restrooms, but no showers. This is a fine choice for those looking to enjoy the nearby urban pleasures of Phoenix and who don't mind a little longer trip to such outdoor recreation as the rugged trails through Pinnacle Peak Park or the much easier hikes in North Mountain Park.
