Tettegouche State Park
Located approximately six miles outside of Silver Bay is Tettegouche State Park, which overlooks the Sawtooth Mountains. The campground offers 28 drive-in sites that are located approximately one-mile from Lake Superior. All sites are secluded and well screened, making them perfect for tent camping. There are five backpack sites, six walk-ins, 13 cart-in sites and two group campsites. Five kayak campsites are located along the banks of Lake Superior. No sites have electricity, but the park has a bathhouse, and vault toilets are located throughout the park. The park offers canoe rentals and a fishing pier. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the 23 miles of hiking trails, 2 miles of mountain biking trails and 16 miles of cross-country ski trails. Rock climbers can climb the park's steep cliffs and bluffs.

Northern Exposure Campground
The Northern Exposure Campground is located approximately two miles from Silver Bay. The heavily wooded campground is open May through October. There are 58 sites, some of which offer water, electricity and privacy. Tent campers have their own area that is wooded and private but does not have water or electricity. The campground has a laundry facility, bathhouses with warm showers, a playground and a camping store. The campground is approximately ten miles north of Split Rock Lighthouse State Park where visitors can tour the lighthouse or utilize the park's 14 miles of hiking trails and six miles of mountain biking trails. There are various public boat launching sites within close proximity of the campground. Canoeists can canoe a portion of the Lake Superior Water Trail, which extends around the entire lake.

Wildhurst Lodge & Campground
Approximately 16 miles northwest of Silver Bay is the city of Finland is the Wildhurst Lodge & Campground. The campground is located within the Finland State Forest on 40 acres of forested land. The lodge is open year-round offering wooded, private campsites, all of which are canopied by large trees. The 17 secluded tent sites are situated away from the RVs and have fire rings and picnic tables. The campground has four RV sites with water and electric. There are several outhouses located throughout the campground, a bathhouse with showers, and a dump station. There is a camp store, and the lodge offers food and drinks. The property has hiking trails throughout. The 311,970-acre Finland State Forest has various trout streams and lakes for fishing, as well as 25 miles of mountain biking trails and two miles of hiking trails.
