RV Campgrounds Near Jackson, MS
The Mississippi state capital, Jackson, features museums, live entertainment, historical attractions, and, of course, plenty of fine southern cooking. Although campgrounds are scarce within city, visitors can camp just outside of town and explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Campers should plan to take a day to explore LeFleur's Bluff or relax on the Barnett Reservoir, which is just a short drive away.

LeFleur's Bluff

LeFleur's Bluff is a 305 acre state park located in the center of Jackson. This park features a 28-site camping area for tents or RVs with water and electrical hookups. Other campground amenities include a sewage dump station, bathrooms and hot showers. Outside of the camping area, visitors will find a children's playground, an 18-hole disc golf course, a sheltered picnic area with tables and grills, a 9-hole golf course and more than 1.5 miles of hiking trails. Campers can also enjoy boating and fishing on Mayes Lake, which is located within the LeFleur's Bluff State Park.

Springridge RV Park

Springridge RV Park is approximately two miles west of Jackson along Interstate 20. This 42-site RV park has 30 large pull-through sites, and all sites offer water, electric, sewage, telephone and cable TV hookups. This park also has an outdoor heated pool, restrooms, showers, a laundry room, a playground, a basketball court and a 2000 square foot clubhouse with kitchen facilities. Wireless Internet is available throughout the park. Fast food restaurants, a gas station and a Starbucks are located within two blocks of the park.

Timberlake Campground

Timberlake Campground is located six miles west of Jackson near the Barnett Reservoir. This park has over 200 paved RV sites, some of which feature water, electric and sewer hookups while others only offer water and electric. Amenities of the campground include restrooms and showers, a laundry room, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, picnic tables, charcoal grills, a boat launch, a fishing dock, a disc golf course and a television room. A multi-use trail for hiking and biking runs along the outer edge of the campground and along the Barnett Reservoir.
