Campgrounds in Evart, Michigan
Evart Michigan is a small Northern Michigan town located on the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail. This 30 mile extends from Midland to Clare, Michigan and is traveled by hikers, bicyclists, runners and in-line skaters. Other popular local activities include tubing or canoeing on the Muskegon River and hiking or cross-country skiing on trails winding through the forests just outside of town.

River Country Campground

River Country Campground has 134 grassy campsites for tents or RVs in northern Evart along the Muskegon River. Electricity is available at each site and some sites also feature water and sewer hookups. Campground amenities include a restrooms with hot showers, sanitary RV dump station, laundry facilities and a camp store selling propane, firewood, ice, snacks and souvenirs. This campground also has a children's playground, arcade room, basketball court, horseshoe pits and an 18-hole miniature golf course. River Country is also a canoe livery and rents canoes, kayaks and tubes for use on the Muskegon River.

Riverside Park

Riverside Park is approximately three blocks away from downtown Evart. This campground has 15 grassy campsites with electricity available at each site. Visitors to the park will enjoy a hiking trail running through the campground and along the Muskegon River with canoe put-in areas. Park amenities include playground equipment, baseball diamond, shuffleboard court and sheltered picnic tables.

Mud Lake State Forest Campground

Mud Lake State Forest Campground is a small rustic campground in a wooded area with eight sites for tents or small campers and RV's. Electricity is not available at Mud Lake but a hand pump provides guests with fresh drinking water and vault toilets are located on the premises. Fishing is permitted on Mud Lake with typical catches including bass and bluegill. Hikers and mountain bikers will find an eight-mile trail extending from Mud Lake to Pike Lake.
