The forested town of Cannon Falls is located in the southeastern region of Minnesota. Situated in the picturesque Cannon Valley where the Big and Little Cannon Rivers meet up, Cannon Falls offers a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities. Visitors will enjoy mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing, or watching the vast population of wildlife in the area. Campers will not be disappointed in the wooded and private campsites offered in the area.

Cannon Falls Campground

The Cannon Falls Campground is located just outside the city limits of Cannon Falls. The campground offers 200 campsites accommodating tents and RV's. The forested campground has large sites situated in the shade or sun. There are 18 wooded sites for tent campers who desire more privacy. Campsites are either full hook-up or have water and electric only. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. The campground has restrooms, coin-operated hot showers, dump station, playground, heated pool and camping store. Boaters and anglers are approximately one-mile from various public boat launches into Lake Byllesby or the Cannon River.

Lake Byllesby Campground

Lake Byllesby Campground is located on the shoreline of the Lake Byllesby Reservoir, offering fishing and boating opportunities. There are 35 campsites offering water, electricity, fire ring and a picnic table. The wooded and secluded tent area has 21 campsites, which include a picnic table, fire ring, with some sites lakeside. The campground has a bathhouse, dump station and picnic shelter. There is a boat ramp in the campground offering boating and fishing opportunities in Lake Byllesby. The Cannon River Riverside Park is located approximately four miles away, offering tubing and canoeing on the Cannon River, as well as riverside hiking and biking trails.

Hidden Valley Campground

Located in Welch, approximately 17 mile from Cannon Falls is the Hidden Valley Campground. The campground situated on 300 acres, is located within the RJD Memorial Hardwood State Forest, offering an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities. There are 200 wooded campsites, with some on the banks of the Cannon River. All sites come with electric, water and sewer. Tent campers have a multitude of private and wooded sites that are away from RV's. The campground has a bathhouse, dump station and camping store. The campground offers tube rentals and a shuttle, for those wanting to experience the Cannon River. The 20-mile Cannon Valley Trail runs adjacent to the campground, offering opportunities to hike or bike.
