Situated in Calcasieu Parish in southwest Louisiana, Vinton is part of the Lake Charles metropolitan area. The city's history is intimately tied to the railroad and the timber industry. Today it boasts a historic downtown district and the Sabine River and Niblett Bluff brings tourists and visitors to the area to hike, bike, boat, and fish. When traveling to Vinton, there are a number of RV resorts in the area from which you can choose.

Niblett's Bluff Park

Situated just west of downtown Vinton, Niblett's Bluff Park is a city park that overlooks the scenic Sabine River. The park is located on the site of where Fort Nibletts, a Civil War fort, once stood, and preserves the natural beauty and history of Southwest Louisiana. Open all year, the on-site campground has 35 RV sites with water and electric, but no sewer, and it has no Internet access. It features a boat launch, playground, indoor pavilion, and dump station. Popular activities include hiking, boat and fishing.

Texas Pelican RV Park

Texas Pelican RV Park is located just south of Interstate 10 on the outskirts of Vinton. It has 34 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups and features concrete, pull through sites and allows pets. Fishing and boating are just a short drive along the Sabine River for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.

Hidden Ponds RV Park

Located approximately 20 minutes east of Vinton in nearby Sulphur, Hidden Ponds RV Park is situated on 7 acres and has 168 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups that can accommodate RVs up to 70 feet. Open all year, it features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi Internet, and fishing ponds. The park is just a short drive from Prien Lake, where fishing and boating are popular activities.
