Campgrounds in Asheville, North Carolina
Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina, is a great location for a camping trip. Many outdoor activities can be pursued in this area; hike a few trails, ride your bike, go fishing or take a rock-climbing lesson in the surrounding mountains of the Pisgah National Forest. Other local attractions include the Biltmore House and Blue Ridge Parkway. Several campgrounds are in the area so that you can stay close to the action.

Lake Powhatan Campground

Lake Powhatan Campground is located at the edge of Pisgah National Forest. It is a short walk to the Blue Ridge Parkway and a short drive Interstate 26. On the campground property, there are several trails that you can access, and Lake Powhatan is a short walk away. The campground has 96 sites are available mid April through the end of October. Each includes a tent pad, picnic table and fire pit. The campground has all the basic campground amenities such as bath houses and restrooms.

Asheville West KOA

Asheville West KOA offers wooded tent sites with fire pits. Campsites are separate from the RV parking area. On-site amenities include a camp store, picnic area, kitchen, restrooms and bathhouses. Entertainment is available in the form of a game room, horseshoes, playground, pool and trails. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest are a quick a car trip to the south.

Wilson's RV Park

Wilson's RV Park is close to outdoor recreation like biking, hiking and baseball at Carrier Park. On the campground's property you will find many conveniences, including showers, bathrooms, a store, bike paths and access to the river. There is not a laundry on site, but you will find one a short drive away. Tent sites are available for a lower price than RV sites, and include picnic tables.
