Kasa Indian Eatery

Kasa Indian Eatery has been awarded the Best New Restaurant of 2009 by SF Weekly due to its perfect take on Indian cuisine. The goal of this restaurant is to provide customers with the opportunity to indulge in homemade Indian cuisine. This is accomplished by incorporating fresh ingredients and seasonal menu items. All dishes are prepared from scratch, thus they have the quintessential homemade taste, which has been designed to mimic the menu enjoyed in India. According to the company website, Kasa's goal is to provide wholesome meals that would make Indian grandmothers proud. The menu is divided into two different types, Kati Rolls or Thali, which translates into Plate. The Kati Rolls mimic traditional Indian street food, which is handmade bread that is stuffed with a dish of your choice (Kasa offers seven dish choices). The Thali option is a platter of food that is accompanied with lentils, handmade bread, chutneys, rice and raita. Not only are you able to eat inside of this casual restaurant, but it also provides a home delivery service for those who live within close proximity to the Castro.

Prices as of 2010:

Thali: $10.95
*Side dishes, soda's and alcoholic beverages cost extra.
