Bristol, Tennessee Campgrounds
Bristol, Tennessee is an ideal choice to have a great camping vacation. To the north is Virginia with lots of mountains and streams. To the east and south are the lakes of Tennessee, as well as the smoky mountains and the Cherokee National Forest. The Appalachian Trail is nearby, and lots of other trails are there to explore in the mountains. Lakes offer fishing and boating, as well as great views from campsites.

Cochran's Lakeview Campground

Less than 10 miles from Bristol is the South Holston Lake. There are several campsites along the shore and many have boat slips and rentals. The sites, such as the one at Cochran's Lakeview Campground, are nestled between the water and the rolling hills of East Tennessee. This campsite has full hookups for RV and pop-up campers, as well as many tent sites. There is also a nice waterfront pavilion.

Lakeview RV Park

About 12 miles to the south is the Lakeview RV Park, on Boone Lake near Bluff City. This is a smaller lake and closer to the mountains.
There are lots of pull-through sites for RV's and for pop-up campers. Fishing is plentiful here. There are many trails among the hills bordering the lake. Pontoon boat, paddle boat and golf cart rentals are available. Free Internet is available for campers. Shopping malls, restaurants, flea markets are all within walking distance.

Convenience, Bristol-Kingsport KOA

The Bristol-Kingsport KOA shares two names because it lies between the two cities, about the same distance from each. This site is very convenient to Interstate 181, as well as the lakes and mountains of the area.
The campsite has cable-TV and free Internet available. There are a lot of RV sites and tent sites, and several cabins available.
There is an outdoor pavilion. The campground also has numerous activities for children and is pet friendly.

NASCAR Weeks, Thunder Valley Campground

Thunder Valley Campground is located near Bristol Motor Speedway and caters to race fans. The campground is only open on race weeks in March and August.
The camp has full hookups for RVs and pop-ups as well as tent sites. It also has shuttles operating to the race track, which is less than a mile away.
