Campgrounds Near St. Michael, Minnesota
St. Michael, Minnesota, is a mid-sized community to the north of the Twin Cities. The area is close to Minneapolis yet still maintains a country setting and feel. The nearby Crow Hassan Park Reserve has hiking and biking for visitors. Within the greater St. Michael region, visitors can find numerous small lakes for trout, arctic grayling and bass fishing. There are several options for campgrounds in the St. Michael area.

Minneapolis Northwest KOA

The Minneapolis Northwest KOA has sites for tents and RVs. Tent sites are primitive but have level areas for pitching and freshwater access. Tent sites also have tables for dining and fire-rings. RVs of most sizes can be handled with either back-in or pull-through sites. There are 30- and 50-amp connections as well as water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi hookups. All guests have access to the campgrounds showers and bathrooms. Pets are allowed if leashed. Good Sam and AAA club members are eligible for discounts. The Crow Hassan Park is within 45 minutes of the KOA, and visitors to the park can find hiking and mountain biking opportunities.

Three Rivers Park District Baker Campground

The Baker Campground is part of the Three Rivers Parks system and has sites for tent campers and RV travelers. Tent sites have fire-pits, grills for cooking and freshwater access. RV sites have 30- or 50-amp electric hookups. All guests may use the toilets and dump station. There are showers available for guest use. Pets are allowed if leashed. Activities in the park include canoeing and fishing, hiking, mountain-biking and, in winter, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ski-joring.

Ham Lake Campground

Guests staying at the Ham Lake Campground can fish, canoe or kayak on the lake within the park. There are boat rentals available. Tent campers and RVs can be accommodated. Tent sites have fire-rings and grills as well as access to freshwater spigots for drinking and cooking. RV sites have the standard 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer hookups. There are showers and bathrooms, as well as a laundry room on the premises for guest comfort and use. Pets are allowed but should be leashed.
