Carrabassett Valley is a small town in Western Maine. Despite its small size, Carrabassett is known for being the home of Sugarloaf Mountain ski resort and the Carrabassett Valley Academy, which teaches skiing and snowboarding. Visitors can choose to stay at the Sugarloaf Resort or can choose from one of several area hotels that offer a range of amenities.

The Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel is the premiere lodging at Sugarloaf USA resort. The hotel features modern rooms, which include flat-screen televisions, DVD players and views of the surrounding mountains. Guests also can enjoy the hotel's free wireless Internet service and ski lockers. For an added fee, Superior rooms also include a wet bar and refrigerator. The Double Diamond Steakhouse is located on-site for convenient casual dining. Guests also can book rooms at Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel as part of a ski-and-stay package which includes lift tickets and a room.

The White Wolf Inn

Situated about 15 miles northwest of Carrabassett in Stratton, the White Wolf Inn is a hotel within a short drive of several local ski destinations. The White Wolf Inn includes 10 guest rooms, all of which are decorated in an "Early Maine Recycle" style of eclectic decor with headboards made from old fence posts and handmade baskets as decorations. The hotel offers discount weekday rates during the winter season. Pets are welcome for a modest additional fee. The on-site White Wolf Restaurant features classic dishes like hamburgers, turkey pot pie and lobster-stuffed haddock, all served in a rustic atmosphere.

Mountain View Motel

Also located in Stratton, the Mountain View Motel is a small, rustic eight-room motel. The motel offers single and double rooms, all of which feature wireless Internet access, private baths and cable television. Some rooms also include a kitchen with appliances and suites feature a living room with a sofa. Wood paneling and country-patterned linens complete the cozy ambiance. Rates are lower during the summer months and the motel also offers hunting for the moose, deer and bears that on the property.
