RV Parks in Cottonwood, Ariz.
The town of Cottonwood, Arizona, has a lot to offer to RV campers who love the great outdoors. It is literally surrounded by the Prescott National Forest, while Dead Horse Ranch State Park is actually within the town limits. Opportunities for hiking, biking, nature watching and even boating and fishing are all around Cottonwood, and there is a range of private and public RV parks to choose from.

Rio Verde RV Park

As implied by the name, this wooded RV park is set on the banks of the Verde River. The standard site has full hookups with 30-amp electricity, with 50-amp sites available upon request. All sites have cable TV connections, some sites have telephone connections and those near the front of the park are in range of its free Wi-Fi access. The camping facilities include a coin laundry, shower house and RV supply store. The direct access to the Verde River means anglers can go fishing without having to leave the RV park, although an Arizona fishing license is required.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park

This Arizona state park has a 100-site, four-loop campground, and three of those loops are for RV campers. Those sites have water and electrical hookups (30- and 50-amp electricity) and can accommodate 40-foot rigs. Each RV loop is serviced by its at least one centrally located shower house, but there is only one dump station for the entire campground. The park also has tent camping and rental cabins. Among its amenities are several miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, as well as fishing and boating in the Verde River and the park's lagoons.

The sites come with full hookups (30- and 50-amp electricity), as well as cable TV connections and free Wi-Fi access. Among the park's amenities are a TV lounge and a coin laundry. The park does permit pets, but not big, aggressive dogs like pit bulls and Rottweilers. A 10-percent discount is available to seniors and AARP members.
