With a population of just under 4,000, Sauk Centre can deservedly be called a sleepy town. Still, there's much to see and do here. The Greystone and Lynx National golf clubs are open to visitors. The 28-mile Lake Wobegon Trail is a good option for those who have a few hours to spare. For those with less time, the Sinclair Lewis Boyhood Home (a restored residence and museum) or the Main Street Theater are good options.

Red Barn Resort & Campground

Both RV and tent sites here are seasonal and are open between May 1st and October 1st . Spaces are rented by the day and by the way, but there's a two-day minimum on all sites (three days during holidays). The campground offers guest access to a game room (which contains billiards and table games), a restaurant and full-service bar and fishing facilities. Both open and shaded sites are available. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash at all times.

Sinclair Lewis Campground

There are both gravel and grassy sites available. Both offer the same amenities. All 70 sites have electric and water hookups, but only 40 offer sewer connections. There are no extras such as Wi-Fi or cable TV. Each site has a fire pit and picnic tables. The campground has some other amenities: a storm shelter, lake dock and boat ramp and a soda machine. The campground has waterfront access and beautiful views of a lake along with lots of shade. Restrooms and showers are available. This is a pet-friendly campground.

Big Sauk Resort

Sites here are shaded with a picnic table. All sites have water and electricity hookups, and the resort also has cabins and rooms for rent for those who want more comfort or for when the weather gets too chilly. The campground offers 30- and 50-amp connections. Boat and pontoon rental are available on site, and there are a number of other activities within minutes of the resort, including three golf courses, trails, Go Carts and a variety of shopping and restaurant options. Pets are welcome in the RVs and must be walked on a leash at all times. Quiet time between 11:00pm and 6:00pm.
