Mexican Restaurants in Long Island, New York
With wide wind-swept beaches and lush inland parks, Long Island has long been a vacation hotspot for New Yorkers. After a long day of windsurfing, fishing or kayaking, there's nothing more satisfying than a hearty meal at a fun Mexican restaurant, and Long Island's got plenty of them. Whether you're in the mood for a colossal California-style burrito or some sizzling enchiladas, Long Island offers plenty of excellent options for south-of-the-border cuisine.

Pinata's Mexican Grill

This casual Mexican eatery in Bethpage may not be the best place to go on a romantic night out, but for fresh, affordable Mexican food it's one of Long Island's better options. Start your meal off with a platter of crispy nachos smothered in black beans, melted jack cheese and all the fixings. Then assemble a customized plate of tacos stuffed with chicken, steak, chorizo, shrimp or even tongue. Prices are quite reasonable, so you can purchase a full meal for less than $10 (as of 2010). In fact, you can earn a free meal if you're up to Pinata's "Monster Burrito Challenge" in which you must devour two 3-lb. burritos in one sitting. Now that's a mouthful.
