Campgrounds Near Sneads, Florida
Sneads is a small, forested town located in the northern region of the Florida Panhandle. The area surrounding Sneads is an angler's delight, as the town sits on the southwest shorelines of Lake Seminole. Outdoor enthusiasts will find many opportunities in the area to hike, fish, boat and view a wide variety of wildlife. Campers will find several state parks that offer secluded, wooded sites.

Three Rivers State Park

Three Rivers State Park is located approximately 2 miles outside the city limits of Sneads and situated on Lake Seminole. There are 30 campsites, some waterfront, that have electricity, water, a fire ring, grill and picnic table. All sites are shady and wooded, with some sites accommodating pull-throughs. Maximum RV length is 40 feet. There are group camping facilities and pets are welcome. The park has a picnic area, playground, dump station and one cabin. Canoe rentals are available at the park. Boaters and anglers can utilize the park's 100-foot fishing pier or launch at the park's boat ramp and fish Lake Seminole. The Chattahoochee River is approximately 2 miles from the park, where visitors can launch at the various boat ramps and fish.

Torreya State Park

Torreya State Park. is located approximately 10 miles from Sneads. The park is located on a bluff situated above the Apalachicola River and is home to the rare Torreya tree, only found in the Appalachian Mountains. The park offers 22 wooded and private campsites with water, electric, fire ring, grill and picnic table. Maximum RV length is 40 feet. Backpacking campsites are available. The park has a Yurt dome tent that sleeps five and has electricity. There is a picnic area, restroom, showers and great opportunities to view wildlife. The park has a 7-mile loop trail, a trail leading into the park's deep ravines and a trail walking the bluff along the river. There are boat ramps approximately 1 mile from the park where anglers and boaters can launch into the Apalachicola River.

Florida Caverns State Park

Florida Caverns State Park is located approximately 23 miles west of Sneads. The 1,139-acre park, situated on the Chipola River, has caverns and guests can take the daily cave tour. The campground offers 35 large, shaded sites, with three sites for RVs only and three set aside for tents. Campsites have water, electricity, fire ring, grill and picnic table. Maximum size for RVs is 40 feet. There is an equestrian camping area with stables. The campground has a picnic area, visitor's center, playground and concession area. There are 6 miles of hiking/biking/equestrian trails throughout the park, including two shorter nature trails. The park rents canoes for guests to paddle down the Chipola River.
