The RV parks, campgrounds and resorts in Crossville, Tennessee, are located within an hour of several miles of hiking and biking trails. Cumberland Mountain State Park is mere minutes away from the city itself as are several lakes that offer plenty of chances to reel in some big freshwater fish. When you want to take a break from the great outdoors you can catch a show at the Palace Theater or the Cumberland County Playhouse.

Spring Lake RV

The RV campground formerly known as the Roam and Roost is now known as Spring Lake RV Resort. In 2009 this Crossville RV park opened 40 new full hookup sites with 30- and 50amp electric and now features 63 in total. Six of the sites are pull-through and there is room for slideouts and big rigs up to 75-feet long. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, laundry, two pavilions and an area for walking your pet. Bring your fishing gear because manicured grounds surround Spring Lake where you can drop your line for freshwater species. A half hour away from the campground is the Crab Orchard mountain bike trail where the 10.8-mile ride covers steep hills, crosses over streams and takes you past caverns.

Cumberland Mountain State Park

Cumberland Mountain State Park has 145 sites with water and 20- and 30-amp electrical hookup. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, laundry and a restaurant. The paved interior roads are in good condition. You don't even need to leave this Crossville RV campground to enjoy outdoor recreation. You can swim in the Olympic-sized pool from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Byrd Lake provides plenty of room to drop a line and reel in catfish, bass and bream. Cumberland Mountain State Park is filled with miles of hiking trails that can take you around the lake or into the woods. Bring your tennis racket if you've got one because the park also has a court.

Beanpot Campground

Beanpot Campground is home to 49 pull-through sites with full hookups including 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric. There is room for slideouts and big rigs. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, laundry, library, convenience and gift store and RV storage. Recreation includes a swimming pool, playground and nature trails. You can also get in some horseshoes or play basketball. An hour away in Wartburg is Lone Mountain bike trail. This 13.5 mile trail starts out steep and difficult, but the payoff is a beautiful view from the top of the cliff.
