Greensboro is located in South Georgia. It is home to Lake Oconee, which at 19,050 acres is Georgia's second largest lake. With a temperate climate and numerous opportunities for lake fishing, paddling, boating and hiking, it's easy to see why Greensville is a popular location for the outdoors enthusiast. Because of this, you will find a number of excellent campgrounds located right along the shores of Lake Oconee.

North Shore Resort at Lake Oconee

The North Shore Resort is located right next to Lake Oconee in Greensboro. The resort has 112 sites in total; 102 of them have full hookups while the remaining 10 sites have just water and electricity. Electrical hookups are available at 20/30/50 amps. Other facilities at North Shore Resort include six pull-throughs, cabins and propane gas. Other amenities include Wi-Fi Internet access and picnic tables. North Shore Resort is open year round and welcomes both pets and big rigs. Recreational facilities at the resort include two swimming pools and even tennis courts. In addition, you'll find a boat launch for boating and canoeing on Lake Oconee. Consider doing some lake fishing there too. There are also numerous hiking trails around the park.

Old Salem Park Georgia Power

Old Salem Park is another campground located along Lake Oconee. The campgrounds have 92 sites, some of which are set up for extended stays. All 92 sites have just water and electricity hookups available at 30/50 amps. There are 20 pull-throughs, a dump station, laundry facilities and RV storage. Recreational facilities at Old Salem Park include a pavilion, volley ball courts and a playground. The campgrounds are within easy access of the boat dock for all water-based activities such as boating and lake fishing. The most common type of fish you'll find at Lake Oconee is the largemouth bass. The Old Salem Park campgrounds are open from May 1 until November 1. Big rigs are welcome at this campground.

Parks Ferry Park Georgia Power

Parks Ferry Park is another Lake Oconee campground. Like Old Salem Park, Parks Ferry Park is owned and operated by Georgia Power. The campgrounds have 53 sites, some of which are set up for extended stays. All 53 sites have water and electrical hookups at 20/30/50 amps. Other facilities include nine pull-throughs, tenting and laundry room. Recreational facilities at Parks Ferry Park include a pavilion, horseshoes and sports field. There is a boat ramp nearby for boating activities, as well as excellent hiking opportunities nearby and a wildlife habitat. Parks Ferry Park is open from March 1 until September 30. The park welcomes both pets and big rigs.
