Campgrounds in Red River, New Mexico
Red River is a small mountain village 8,750 feet in Carson National Forest in the northern part of New Mexico. The rugged Sangre de Cristo mountains surround Red River, offering plenty of hiking on trails like the Red River Trail and the Horsehoe Lake Trail, and fishing on the Red River. In the winter, skiers enjoy downhill skiing at Red River Ski Area and cross country skiing at Enchanted Forest, while those wanting more terrain flock to nearby Taos, the jewel of New Mexico skiing. Surrounded by National Forest land, Red River has many camping possibilities.

River Ranch

River Ranch is a combination RV and cabin camping facility ideal for tent campers who want more developed facilities than those found on national forest land. Some of the RV sites are allowed for tents, and they also have designated tent sites, some of which are open year round. The facility has bathrooms and showers, laundry, and a dump station. The camping sites, which have picnic tables are located right on the river.
