RV Campgrounds at Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho
Vast lava flows cover nearly a half-million acres of Craters of the Moon National Monument in south-central Idaho. Stop by the visitor center to check out the exhibits and then take a scenic seven-mile loop drive through the preserve. There are several hiking trails in the preserve, including the trail to Big Craters. Nearby, there's also hiking in the Sawtooth National Forest, rock collecting in the Lost River Mountain Range and fishing in area lakes and rivers. In the winter, there's cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Mountain View RV Park

This family-owned and operated RV campground, in the shadows of the Lost River Mountain Range, is minutes from the Craters of the Moon National Monument. The property has an on-site café, miniature golf course, guest laundry, modern bathhouse, picnic areas and barbecue grills. Full hookups and 30- or 50-amp electrical service are available in both shaded and open sites. The campground can accommodate large RVs in wide, pull-through sites. There's free Wi-Fi and the resort offers a free pancake and eggs breakfast during the summer months.

Craters of the Moon/Arco KOA

This campground is 18 miles from the Craters of the Moon National Monument and can accommodate RVs up to 90 feet in pull-through sites. There's 30- and 50-amp electrical service available and free Wi-Fi. The property, with grassy fields and mountain views, has an outdoor swimming pool (open during the summer months), snack bar, camp store and recreation room. The resort offers a variety of planned activities and programs, including daily ice cream socials, arts and crafts and an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Saturdays during the summer.

Moose Crossing RV Park

This full-service RV park, located about 20 miles from Craters of the Moon National Monument, sits in the Big Lost River Valley, surrounded by mountains. The campground has pull-through sites that can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. Sites have full hookups with 30- or 50-amp electrical service and free Wi-Fi. The property has a modern bathhouse, guest laundry, camp store, dump station, picnic area, fire pits and playground. Campers can rent bicycles to explore the local area. The town of Mackay is 10 miles away and has a variety of restaurants and shops.
